Financial Controller

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join their team in Bath. The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial management, with experience in providing services such as bookkeeping, management accounting, and business advice to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders, including annual and monthly reports, which identify results, trends, and forecasts.
- Assist the Managing Director with all accounting operations, including billing, cost accounting, stock and work in progress, and revenue recognition.
- Prepare weekly cash flow reports and ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Streamline accounting functions and operations, and supervise and manage financial department staff.
- Provide external auditors with the necessary documentation and support, and work with the Managing Director to develop systems to support clients' businesses.
- Build and maintain good working relationships with clients, and ensure that all communications are conducted in a professional and timely manner.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns across different schemes, and have overall responsibility for client profitability and client service delivery.
Requirements:
- Experience across bookkeeping, accounts preparation, and management accounting.
- Strong cloud accounting experience and Excel skills are essential.
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA or QBE will be considered.
- Experience within practice or industry considered.
- Client and deadline driven.
Remuneration:
- £45,000 - £55,000 per annum.
- Options for the role to be 3 days per week or full-time.
- Clear progression routes.
- 20 days holiday plus bank holidays rising yearly with service.
