Primary SEMH Support Worker

SEMH Teaching Assistant Role
GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team in a primary school setting. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to pupils with SEMH needs, promoting positive behavior and emotional regulation.
- Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to create a nurturing environment that fosters learning and development.
- Assist pupils in engaging fully in their education and activities, providing feedback to teachers on progress and needs.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs is desirable but not essential.
- A calm, patient, and positive approach to working with children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to supporting the mental and emotional wellbeing of pupils.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
