Quantity Surveying Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our construction team in Hastings, United Kingdom. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing costs, preparing estimates, and negotiating contracts to ensure the successful delivery of our construction projects.
About the Role:
- Project Cost Management: Manage project costs from inception to completion, ensuring that all expenses are accurately accounted for and that budgets are met.
- Estimating: Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, taking into account factors such as materials, labor, and equipment costs.
- Negotiation: Negotiate contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients, securing the best possible deals while minimizing risks.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage project cash flows and budgets, ensuring timely payments and optimizing financial resources.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and assess commercial risks and develop mitigation strategies, protecting the company's interests and reputation.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant construction regulations and legislation, maintaining a strong safety record and avoiding potential liabilities.
- Teamwork: Liaise with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure project targets are met, fostering strong relationships and resolving conflicts efficiently.
What You'll Need:
- Qualifications: Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field, with a strong understanding of construction contracts, regulations, and best practices.
- Experience: Extensive experience (5+ years) in a similar role within the construction industry, with a proven track record in cost management, contract negotiation, and risk assessment.
- Skill Set: Strong knowledge of cost management software and financial reporting tools, excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant applications.
- Licenses: Full UK driving license, with membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) preferred.
