Kenna Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Central London. As a Senior Surveyor, you will be responsible for overseeing aspects of commercial management, including client managing, reporting upstream and downstream, and managing all procurement/CVRS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee cost estimates, budgets, and contracts for construction projects
  • Prepare and submit accurate financial reports, including cost forecasts and project progress reports
  • Analyse project plans and specifications to determine resource needs and cost estimates
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop cost-effective solutions and value engineering proposals
  • Evaluate subcontractor bids and negotiate contracts to ensure competitive pricing and quality workmanship
  • Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction process, including reviewing change orders and assessing their impact on the project budget
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to assess progress, quality, and compliance with contract specifications
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors and construction personnel

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in a senior role
  • Extensive knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and project management
  • Proficient in the use of industry-standard software such as MS Excel and project management tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced construction environment
  • Professional certifications such as RICS or MRICS are highly desirable
