**Job Title:** Care and Companionship Advocate

**Salary:** £18,000 - £22,000 per annum

At Marie Curie, we are seeking a compassionate individual to join our team as a Care and Companionship Advocate. This role involves providing emotional support and companionship to patients in their homes, helping them to maintain their independence and improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one companionship and support to patients, promoting their physical and emotional well-being
  • Assist patients with daily tasks, such as making tea or accessing the internet
  • Drive patients to pre-arranged medical appointments or take short trips out
  • Signpost families, friends, and carers to other services, as appropriate
  • Support the evaluation of the service, including writing brief reports on each visit

Requirements:

  • Mature perspective on life and death
  • Understanding of confidentiality
  • Willingness to learn and operate within the boundaries of the role
  • Respect for individuals, regardless of their background
