About the Role
NHS Scotland is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Health Consultant to lead our Pregnancy and Newborn Screening programme. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight to ensure the successful delivery of this critical programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and guidance on public health matters related to pregnancy and newborn screening
- Develop and implement strategies to improve population health and reduce health inequalities
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective programme delivery
- Lead and manage a team of public health professionals to achieve programme objectives
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in public health and apply this knowledge to inform programme development and delivery
Requirements
- Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC
- Experience in public health medicine, with a focus on pregnancy and newborn screening
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a focus on achieving programme objectives
