About the Role:

Auston Legal Ltd is seeking a Solicitor to join its Professional Indemnity Team in London. The successful candidate will assist the existing members in handling a caseload of smaller professional indemnity claims, as well as assisting lead partners with high-value and multi-party claims.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing documents and preparing précis reports
  • Handling smaller matters independently
  • Liaising with insured parties and insurers
  • Dealing with disclosure and evidence
  • Conducting investigations and instructing counsel/experts
  • Researching and drafting reports
  • Attending conferences and trials with counsel
  • Dealing with routine correspondence and court appointments
  • Ensuring compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct 2011 and relevant Service Standards

Requirements:

  • Previous defendant professional indemnity experience (2-4 years PQE)
  • Ability to prioritize workload and communicate effectively in writing
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with case management systems
  • Personal skills to deal with complex litigation and senior claims handlers
  • Legal qualification required (Solicitor/FileX or equivalent)
