Job Title: Fire Safety Inspecting Officer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Safety Inspecting Officer to join our team at Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our Primary Authority Programme and supporting the Service's wider Fire Safety delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver the Service's Primary Authority Programme, ensuring the level of service and fire safety protection advice offered to both the communities of Derbyshire and our Primary Authority Partners continues to be of the highest standard.
- Support the DFRS Protection Strategy by way of fire safety audits and other regulatory activities driven by the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
- Work closely with our Primary Authority partners, other enforcing authorities and regulators from across the UK to advise on compliance issues and provide general information relating to fire safety.
- Develop and implement fire safety knowledge across the department and wider service, including training, development and CPD activities.
Requirements:
- A minimum of Fire Safety Level 4 Diploma.
- Comprehensive experience in enforcing Fire Safety legislation.
- Ability to apply for the Institute of Fire Engineer's Register of Fire Risk Auditors.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to manage and prioritise workloads.

Security Vetting:
Police security vetting procedures at the appropriate level will be requested for the successful applicant. The HQ role requires enhanced vetting. Please note that, due to the nature of security checks undertaken, applicants must have 3 years continuous residency in the UK up to the date of the application and Home Office approval for indefinite leave to remain within the UK.
