We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Management Expert to join our team at Perpetual Engineering.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in cost management to work on high-profile projects across various sectors, including infrastructure and residential. Our client provides a supportive environment that allows professionals to enhance their skills and take on diverse roles.

The successful candidate will be part of a reputable Cost Management team based in central London, providing full suite commercial services for major projects both in the UK and overseas.

The key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting feasibility studies and development appraisals to inform decision-making processes.
  • Providing procurement services and expert advice to optimize project outcomes.
  • Implementing whole life and life cycle costing methodologies to ensure cost-effectiveness throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Developing and maintaining comprehensive cost plans aligned with project objectives.
  • Conducting benchmarking and auditing activities to ensure quality and compliance standards are met.
  • Acting as an Employer's Agent, representing the client's interests and overseeing project execution.
  • Administering contracts and providing contract management support.
  • Implementing robust cost control and change management procedures.
  • Monitoring project progress and performance against established metrics.
  • Developing contract selection strategies tailored to project requirements.
  • Utilizing value management and engineering techniques to enhance project outcomes.
  • Identifying and mitigating project risks to ensure successful project delivery.

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a similar qualification.
  • Pre- and post-contract cost management experience, including setting budgets, managing change, assessing risk and opportunity, and procurement.
  • Experience working as an Employer's Agent or Project Monitoring Role would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of NEC, JCT, and bespoke forms of D&B Contracts.
  • Infrastructure and residential sector experience is preferable but not essential.
  • Sound IT skills, especially Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
