About the Role

As a Nursery Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of childcare and education are maintained. You will lead a team of staff to deliver high-quality learning, development, and care for children aged 0-5 years. Your primary goal will be to create a safe and engaging environment that fosters growth and development.

We require someone with excellent communication skills, who can demonstrate empathy and understanding of children under 5 years old. You should have a strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and current Ofsted framework. Previous experience as a manager or deputy manager in a nursery setting is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • To manage the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring compliance with statutory frameworks and company policies.
  • To develop partnerships with parents/carers, increasing their involvement in their child's development.
  • To manage all staff within the nursery, providing guidance and support where needed.
  • To ensure the effective daily management of the nursery, maintaining accurate records and reports.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Ensuring responsibility for excellent hygiene, health, and safety practices within the nursery.
  • Supporting the 3rd In Charges and Senior Early Years' Practitioners in the day-to-day running of each individual room.
  • Maintaining up-to-date staff records, including addresses, telephone numbers, references, DBS, and health checks.
  • Monitoring and maintaining correct staffing levels/deployment, completing weekly shifts, and monitoring staff overtime, holidays, and sickness records.
Requirements

We are looking for someone with:

  • A minimum Level 3 qualification in early years or equivalent.
  • Excellent knowledge of the EYFS and current Ofsted framework.
  • Good standard of English and Maths at GCSE grades 7-4 or equivalent.
  • 3 years or more experience of working in a nursery or similar environment.
  • Management or deputy management experience.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including pension scheme, life assurance, and paid annual leave.
