Job Role: Manufacturing Technician - Optronics and Missile Electronics

Due to high demand, we are seeking experienced Manufacturing Technicians to join our Optronics and Missile Electronics (OME) department in Glasgow.

You will work closely with existing team members, Work Cell Managers, and Manufacturing Engineers in delivering the outputs from the relevant work cell according to business requirements.

With experience in mechanical assemblies, you will perform manufacturing tasks in accordance with engineering drawings to the required quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform complex manufacturing operations in accordance with associated documentation in a timely and professional manner.
  2. Assemble products to a high quality standard, including mechanical and optical components, with careful consideration for ESD sensitive componentry.
  3. Align opto-mechanical systems and complete affiliated functional testing according to production documentation, including acceptance test specifications.
  4. Perform self-assessment of products.
  5. Adhere to defined company processes when carrying out tasks.
  6. Escalate technical blockers and issues to relevant Manufacturing Engineers.
  7. Log and escalate quality non-conformances to Inspectors or Quality Representatives.
  8. Contribute to diagnostics and root cause analysis when possible.
  9. Support continuous improvement actions within the industry.
  10. Use company tools (ERP/Oracle, Palma, etc.) for product assembly and test tasks.
  11. Manage and record build configuration of products.
  12. Escalate Health and Safety issues to Work Cell Managers.
  13. Log incidents correctly and escalate to H&S leaders as necessary.
Your Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in building mechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and diagrams.
  • Clear communication with relevant stakeholders.
  • Follow process and instructions.
  • Problem-solving.
  • Ability to work on own initiative when required.
  • Basic PC skills.
  • Eligible to obtain full SC clearance.
