Job Title: Commercial Litigation Paralegal

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Litigation Paralegal to join our team at Simpson Judge Ltd. As a key member of our commercial litigation team, you will play a crucial role in assisting our solicitors with a variety of commercial litigation matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist solicitors in the preparation and management of commercial litigation cases, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and prepare comprehensive case summaries, providing valuable insights to our solicitors.
  • Draft high-quality legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence, that meet the highest standards of our firm.
  • Review and summarize discovery documents and other evidence, identifying key information and potential issues.
  • Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are filed accurately and efficiently, and that our team has access to the information they need.
  • Liaise with clients, witnesses, and external parties as needed, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring seamless communication.
  • Attend court hearings and meetings, taking detailed notes and providing support to our solicitors.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and procedures, staying ahead of the curve in commercial litigation.
  • Support the team with general administrative tasks as required, ensuring our office runs smoothly and efficiently.

Requirements:

  • A degree in law or equivalent legal qualification.
  • Previous experience as a paralegal in commercial litigation is preferred, but not essential.
  • Strong research, drafting, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
