Children's Social Worker

We are seeking an experienced social worker to join our team in Devon, working closely with young asylum-seeking children and their families. As a key member of our social work team, you will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments, creating individualized support plans, and advocating for the needs of these children.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct holistic assessments of the needs and experiences of young asylum seekers, considering their cultural, emotional, and educational backgrounds.
- Develop and implement individualized support plans that address the unique challenges faced by asylum-seeking children, including trauma-informed care and integration into the local community.
- Act as a strong advocate for young asylum seekers, helping them navigate the complexities of the asylum process, education systems, and access to healthcare.
- Establish trusting and respectful relationships with children, families, and other stakeholders, ensuring that the voices of young asylum seekers are heard and valued.
- Collaborate with multi-agency teams, including legal representatives, educational institutions, and health professionals, to provide a coordinated approach to support.
We are looking for a passionate advocate for the asylum-seeking children and young people you work with. You will have a social work qualification and registration with Social Work England, as well as experience working within social care, including working in a multi-agency and court environment. You will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to build effective professional relationships, and knowledge and understanding of the legislation, models, and theories relevant to children's social work.
