The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at BSV Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading mechanical design strategies and serving as the project lead and main point of contact for clients across various projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement mechanical design strategies to meet client requirements
  2. Lead design teams and coordinate regular feedback sessions with technical and quality teams
  3. Prepare technical specifications and mechanical design drawings using industry-standard software
  4. Develop tender documentation and reports
  5. Ensure agreed information release dates are met
  6. Conduct design calculations and design mechanical installations in compliance with British Standards
  7. Create design proposals at sketch, detailed design, and production stages
  8. Mentor junior engineers to support their development
  9. Manage and build client and design team relationships for continuous business development opportunities
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a building services design role and hold a HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent in Building Services or a related subject. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Hevacomp, and IES is also required. Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and a willingness to travel to project sites as needed are essential.
