Holroyd Precision Ltd. is a leading manufacturer of machine tools seeking an experienced Operations Director to oversee and drive efficiency across our production, procurement, design, software & controls, and new product development (NPD) teams.
This role requires a strategic, hands-on leader with a deep understanding of machine tool manufacturing and the intricacies of high-value, heavy machine design, manufacture, and delivery.
- Procurement Strategy: Oversee the procurement strategy, build strong supplier relationships, and negotiate contracts that support timely, high-quality materials delivery for production.
- Software and Controls Management: Support and direct the manager of software and controls, ensuring seamless integration with manufacturing processes and advancing the company's automation and digital initiatives.
- Group Collaboration: Work with HPL sister companies in China on various internal projects including NPD and supply chain initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in operations management within the UK's machine tool manufacturing or a related high-precision engineering sector.
We offer a highly competitive salary range of £80,000 - £110,000 per annum commensurate with experience, along with an excellent benefits package.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Substantial experience in operations management within the UK's machine tool manufacturing or a related high-precision engineering sector.
- Comprehensive understanding of high-value heavy machinery design, manufacture, and the end-to-end delivery process.
- Strategic Planning: Ability to develop and execute operational strategies in line with business objectives.
- Financial Acumen: Budget management experience, with the ability to assess and understand financial statements.
- Lean Manufacturing & Quality Management: Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies is highly desirable.
