Financial Planner Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Planner to join our team at Blakemore Recruitment. As a Financial Planner, you will be responsible for providing holistic financial planning advice to private clients, ensuring a smooth delivery of excellent client service, and generating profitable new business and ongoing income streams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of clients and their needs
  • Provide ongoing servicing (including reviews) to existing clients as per service proposition, internal standards, and business processes
  • Generate new business opportunities as per the agreed business plan and targets
  • Help potential clients make positive decisions about their financial future and to implement any recommendations
  • Manage and conduct client meetings and reviews
  • Work with the support team to produce clear, technically accurate, compliant, and concise financial plans, cash flow forecasts, and suitability reports as per business process and internal standards
  • Ensure that all recommendations and reports meet legal and regulatory requirements
  • Provide all advice within a strict ethical and compliance framework, ensuring that all operations affecting the firm's clients are carried out in accordance with the regulator's requirements
  • Ensure that all recommendations are appropriate for clients' individual needs and circumstances
  • Support other team members in specialist knowledge areas
  • Manage own workflow, tasks, and their delivery
  • Produce meeting notes and other documentation as per business processes and within required timescales
  • Attend functions and events to build professional relationships and to promote the firm
  • Network with professional partners and introducers to identify private clients and business opportunities
  • Provide regular activity data to the Business Manager
  • Share ideas and innovations which could improve business and advice processes or enhance relationships with clients and their experiences
  • Ensure continuous development of your financial and technical expertise to meet regulatory requirements and personal goals and objectives as per your training and development plan
  • Keep up to date with the current developments in financial services, financial markets, and economic trends

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working as a qualified Financial Planner is essential
  • At least Diploma level qualified and, if you don't already hold these qualifications, you will be keen to work towards both Chartered Financial Planner and Certified Financial Planner status
  • Willing to take ownership of your own personal development
