We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Maternity Health Care Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing exceptional care to women and their newborn infants.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the care of women under the direction and supervision of midwifery-trained staff in the hospital and community.
- Support the smooth running of maternity services, including clinics, day assessment, and maternity triage.
- Undertake basic care tasks, such as supporting hydration and nutrition needs, documenting fluid balance charts, and preparing women for clinical examinations and tests.
- Act as a chaperone and provide general support to midwives and other healthcare professionals.
- Demonstrate basic numeric and literacy skills, with the ability to undertake NVQ level 2 training at a later date.
- Hold English and maths at GCSE level or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a care setting is desirable, but not essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and adhere to the Trust's health and safety policies.
