Overview

Bet365 is a leading online gambling company seeking a Sports Data Insights Director to join our team. This exciting role will involve coordinating, motivating and driving the work for a team of analysts.

The sports analysis team is responsible for designing, creating and maintaining mathematical models used by our trading tools. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in sports and the online gambling industry.

Key responsibilities include mentoring team members, ensuring knowledge distribution, and providing input on analyst appraisals. The team uses a range of technologies including C#, RStudio, Python, Go, SQL, Excel and Jira Issue Management.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Leading a capable and delivery-focused team.
  • Gaining and maintaining a good understanding of pricing algorithms and technical solutions.
  • Instilling quality as a default requirement throughout all aspects of the team and process.
  • Providing estimates and ensuring they can be delivered.
  • Planning, tracking and reporting on work progress.
  • Managing workloads and ensuring work flows through the process in a timely manner.
  • Understanding, identifying and mitigating risks in delivery of work.
  • Acting as point of contact for other teams within the department and the Business.
  • Assisting in administration responsibilities of the team.

Requirements:

  • A degree in a mathematical or computer science based discipline.
  • Commercial experience in mathematical modelling.
  • Commercial experience in a senior, lead or management role.
  • Delivery and results focused.
  • Self-motivated and well organised.
  • Excellent communicator in both technical and non-technical areas.
  • Excellent understanding of probability and statistics.
  • Ability to operate in a high pressure environment and react quickly to challenging situations, whilst maintaining a positive attitude.
