About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our Adult SLT team at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing evidence-based Speech and Language Therapy assessment, treatment, and intervention to adult service users living across the Fylde coast.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on, coordinate, and provide evidence-based Speech and Language Therapy assessment, treatment, and intervention to adult service users.
  • Manage complex acquired communication and swallowing disorders, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and coordination of care with other service providers.
  • Contribute to the assessment and information-gathering regarding mental capacity and ability to give informed consent, advocate, and to assist service users to maximise their independence in decision-making and communicating their wishes.
  • Support the development of the Speech and Language Therapy service.

Requirements
  • Recognised Speech & Language Therapy Degree, BSc (Hons) or MSc (Hons) or equivalent.
  • Registration with Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Registered member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
  • Additional recognised dysphagia training.
  • A demonstrable commitment to CPD activity.
  • Successful completion of a relevant SLT Clinical Educator course.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Successful completion of a relevant leadership course.
  • Experience in conducting and interpreting videofluoroscopy.
  • Demonstrate a high level of clinical knowledge beyond specialist field.
