Job Title: Financial Analyst - Healthcare Sector

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the NHS as a Financial Analyst, working in the Financial Reporting Team. The successful candidate will have the chance to develop a different skill set and gain a wider understanding of the Health Board's financial position.

Main Duties:

  • Lead on Health Board wide financial analysis and reporting across all Divisions.
  • Develop financial and business solutions to meet the needs of both internal and external stakeholders through ad-hoc strategic reporting projects.
  • Provide detailed financial information, forecasts, and analysis for senior finance managers, completed to expected standards and communicated effectively across the Health Board.
  • The post has lead responsibility for consolidating Health Board wide forecasting reporting and supports the production of the Monthly Monitoring Returns to Welsh Government through specialist data extraction, consolidation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience with Oracle, ECDL, and Microsoft software is highly desirable.
  • A Qualified member of CCAB Professional Body is required.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience of accounting and financial management reporting in a large complex organisation.
  • Advanced knowledge of accountancy and finance, including project management experience and data manipulation skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence Reporting and experience of staff management and development are highly desirable.
