Job Description

As a Strategic Technology Underwriting Manager, you will oversee the team of Underwriters responsible for managing our Technology renewals.

You will strategically partner with brokers to provide exceptional service and bespoke solutions to Technology customers, analyzing and evaluating risk to achieve business goals within the Technology book.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business comprised of moderate to complex accounts across all products.
  • Underwriting and negotiating moderate to complex risks to minimize risk and maximize profitability, including Mid Term Adjustments (MTAs).
  • Proactively managing your portfolio, ensuring key performance indicators are consistently achieved and targeting new business and retention.
  • Identifying and taking corrective action based on individual risk characteristics identified through Portfolio Management to actively manage your portfolio of risks.
  • Utilizing technology platforms to quote and bind risk efficiently.
  • Preparing, leading, and presenting Underwriting Reviews for individual policies or portfolios/schemes and managing action points.
  • Cultivating and maintaining relationships with internal partners and brokers to identify cross-selling opportunities and foster account growth.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Deep knowledge of products, the regulatory environment, and the local insurance market.
  • A strong understanding of financial analysis and risk assessment principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
  • A proven track record of underwriting experience, ideally in the Tech sector or PI & Cyber market.

Estimated Salary

We estimate the salary for this role to be approximately £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
