Occupational Therapist Paediatric Community Specialist

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our Paediatric Community Team. The successful candidate will have a passion for empowering children and young people to fulfil their potential in daily occupations.
Main DutiesThe duties of a Band 6 Occupational Therapist in this setting include:
- Providing assessments in the areas of self-care, school, and play/leisure.
- Taking a client-centred approach and advocating on behalf of the child and/or their carers where appropriate.
- Assessing the impact of the environment on a child/young person's occupational performance.
- Assessing and making recommendations for the provision of specialist equipment and monitoring its use.
- Setting collaborative SMART goals with children, families, and relevant professionals.
- Using evidence of current best practice to plan, facilitate, and evaluate appropriate interventions.
- Formulating individualised, written home programmes focused on family-centred goals.
- Teaching therapeutic techniques to parents, carers, and education staff to enable them to carry out an OT programme for a child or group of children.
- Evaluating progress using appropriate outcome measures and modifying strategies where appropriate.
- Working confidently and effectively within the multi-disciplinary team.
- Leading in the creation and delivery of service workshops to both families and professionals.
- Analysing and reflecting on the current service provision and leading on service development.
- Actively participating and contributing to the service's CPD programme.
- Providing formal supervision and leadership within the team.
