Our BT Workplace team offers a comprehensive range of building maintenance services to BT's 7,000 UK buildings, encompassing commercial offices, telephone exchanges, call centres, and retail shops.

The role of Lead M&E Engineering Surveyor is a senior position within the Technical Team, reporting directly to the Technical Director. Key responsibilities include managing and leading a small team of M&E surveyors, providing technical guidance, and overseeing the development of BT's annual Life Cycle Replacement (LCR) programme.

This position requires:

  • Leadership and management of a UK team of M&E surveyors
  • Ownership and management of a defined number of properties/area
  • Development of BT's annual LCR programme, including associated risk management processes
  • Technical guidance and advice to the CBRE BT Account team and BT colleagues
  • Coordination of M&E engineering professional services advice
  • Compliance with BT and CBRE policies and relevant standards and regulations
  • Maintenance of the Life Cycle database

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Minimum 10+ years of post-qualification experience in M&E management and surveying, with a professional engineering qualification such as MCIBSE or equivalent
  • Experience and understanding of various forms of procurement, particularly NEC and JCT standard forms of contract
  • Understanding of the RIBA Plan of Work stages, particularly stages 4-7
  • Ability to work across a large number of projects simultaneously
  • Awareness of benchmarking costs to support best value design and procurement
