Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom Randstad Education Full time
About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our specialist team, you will provide tailored support to students with social, emotional struggles, profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs.

You will work closely with a talented teaching team to provide both academic and vocational support, helping students unlock their potential and thrive both in and out of the classroom. From hands-on outdoor activities to life skills sessions, every day will bring new opportunities to inspire and empower students to succeed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students in their learning, development, and progress across all areas of the curriculum.
  • Assist students with personal and educational goals, particularly those with PMLD and complex needs.
  • Promote a culture of equality, diversity, and respect for all students.
  • Contribute to a positive learning environment, supporting students in developing confidence and independence.
  • Participate in physical intervention and personal care routines as required.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure the best outcomes for students, focusing on their transition into adult life.
What We're Looking For
  • Candidates who are eager to develop their skills and work towards formal qualifications (funded by us).
  • Compassionate and passionate about working with children and young people with additional needs.
  • Able to see potential rather than limitations, with a proactive, creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all students.
  • Effective communicators, both in team settings and when working independently.
  • Willing to support outdoor and community-based learning activities.
  • Educated to at least Level 2 in Maths and English (or equivalent).
Benefits
  • Be part of a highly skilled, accredited specialist team.
  • Opportunities for meaningful career development and progression.
  • Fully funded training and qualifications to enhance your skill set.
  • Life assurance and enhanced pension scheme.
  • PerkBox offering high street discounts.
  • Employee assistance programme for well-being support.
  • Bike-to-work scheme and car lease scheme.
