About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our team in the Cellular Pathology department. The successful candidate will work as part of a dynamic team, responsible for a range of complex investigations to assist in the diagnosis of disease and monitoring of treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in all aspects of routine work, including specimen checking, labelling, and prioritization
- Perform internal quality control and compilation of weekly rotas
- Use cellular pathology and medical knowledge to determine when further investigations are required
Requirements
- Registered with the HCPC as a Biomedical Scientist and IBMS-approved degree
- Completion (or at least 70% completion) of IBMS specialist portfolio in Cellular Pathology
- Currently working in a UKAS-accredited Cellular Pathology laboratory
- Sufficient current and practical experience working in a routine Histology laboratory
