Job Title: Senior Data Analysis Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analysis Engineer to join our team in Newcastle. As a key member of our Data Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data automation tasks and processes, as well as developing and maintaining our data platform.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a newly created Joint Venture specialising in providing technology consulting services to businesses operating in the Financial Services and Alternative Investment markets. Responsibilities
  • Design and implement data automation tasks and processes to improve data quality and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain our data platform using in-house and vendor data tools.
  • Collaborate with our clients' front office and technology teams to understand and scope new data needs or capabilities.
  • Conduct exploratory evaluation and analysis of a wide variety of industry data sets.
  • Design and implement best-practice and pragmatic data governance methodology.
  • Review data quality monitoring metrics and data quality rule creation.
Requirements
  • Highly proficient in SQL and Python with demonstrable work experience using both languages.
  • Experience in a data specialist role with a passion for working with data and helping stakeholders leverage its value.
  • Ability to produce high-quality analysis while managing complexity.
  • Confident verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-experts.
  • Financial Services experience is a bonus, but not essential.
