Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join our team at International Automotive Components. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of our paint and glue process equipment, ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and operate paint and glue process equipment in accordance with established control plans to meet customer quality standards and delivery schedules.
  • Identify and document any difficulties related to the product, process, and quality system, and communicate them to the relevant teams.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and environmental aspects of your area, including reporting safety hazards, accidents, and near misses, and implementing preventative actions as required.
  • Implement cost-reduction improvements for new and existing equipment and processes.
  • Provide technical support to production and engineering operations for improvement programs.
  • Develop and implement solutions using error-proofing techniques to prevent nonconformities related to the product, process, and quality system.
  • Develop, implement, verify, and document parameter settings for paint and glue process equipment to maintain specified quality standards.
  • Track, record, and prepare management reports detailing process capability and trend analyses of key parameters.
  • Develop robotic path motions and operating parameters for new products and continuous improvement of existing programs.
  • Coordinate with paint and glue line personnel on process-related projects and improvements.
  • Communicate and cooperate with suppliers on usage optimization, formulation compatibility, paint and glue performance, and quality issues.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement teams as assigned by the Engineer Manager.
  • Create and manage budgets year on year.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of FMEA's, control plans, and TS-16949 documentation.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in automotive paint and glue systems, finishing, and robotic systems is required.
  • Experience with industrial control, computer technology, and programming is an asset.
  • ABB Robot experience and Siemens PLC control system knowledge are a plus.
  • General knowledge of production control/scheduling systems, analytical/problem-solving skills, and working knowledge of statistical analysis are required.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, organizational/time management skills, and working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles are essential.
  • Basic knowledge of machining/tooling and electrical/schematics is a plus.
