Key Responsibilities:
- Data Trials and Subscriptions: Establish data trials and manage subscriptions for alternative datasets, ensuring seamless access for research economists.
- Data Ingestion and Publication: Utilize our platform to ingest and publish datasets, leveraging Databricks and Dremio for efficient data management.
- Data Quality Management: Develop and maintain our data quality check library, monitoring vendor data quality to optimize performance.
- Data Analysis: Perform data analysis using Python, Jupyter, SQL, and Tableau, providing actionable insights for our research activities.
- Dashboard and Visualization: Create dashboards and visualizations to support research endeavors, enhancing our understanding of market trends.
- Data Scouting: Identify new data sources, profile vendors, and provide feedback to economists on the data landscape, ensuring our team stays ahead of the curve.
- Work Planning: Prioritize work according to company objectives, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals.
- Status Reporting: Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders, ensuring transparency and open communication.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Buyside Data Experience: At least 3 years of data experience working for a buyside firm, with a strong understanding of data management and analysis.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong coding skills in SQL and Python, with experience in data ingestion and publication.
- Data Management Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of data lifecycle management, including data consumption, storage, and retrieval.
- Proactive Learning: Shows initiative and willingness to learn, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
- Communication Skills: Clear and concise communication style, with the ability to effectively convey complex data insights to stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fast-Paced Environment: Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Developer Collaboration: Experience collaborating with developers, with a strong understanding of data integration and API development.
- Research Data Expertise: Experience working with alternative and macroeconomic research datasets, with familiarity with vendors such as Macrobond, Haver, Bloomberg, etc.
- Advanced Excel Skills: Proficiency in advanced Excel functionalities, with the ability to create complex data models and visualizations.
