About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Network Cabling Apprentice. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to develop a wide range of technical skills and knowledge in the field of network cabling and telecommunications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and maintenance of structured cabling systems to support network infrastructure.
  • Working with shielded twisted pair cables to reduce interference and improve data transmission quality.
  • Setup and configuration of wireless access points for robust and reliable wireless networking.
  • Installing and splicing fiber optic cables, crucial for high-speed data transmission.
  • Testing and verifying the integrity and performance of network and fiber optic cables.
  • Conducting wireless surveys to optimize network coverage and performance.
  • Assisting with the installation and organization of servers and data cabinets.
  • Installing cable containment systems to ensure a safe and tidy cabling environment.
  • Exposure to Voice Over IP systems, learning how to implement and troubleshoot voice communication systems.
  • Understanding the basics of analog telephone systems and their integration into modern networks.
  • Learning the principles of electrical cabling and safe installation practices.
  • Assisting with the setup and maintenance of CCTV systems for security and surveillance.
  • Gaining experience in troubleshooting and repairing communication systems during emergency situations.
  • Working with door access control systems, including Paxton systems.
  • Understanding and working with FTTX technologies, which bring fiber closer to the end user.
