Job Description

This role involves directing and leading the Assembly team to ensure that all required Assembly accountabilities/outputs/standards are achieved or exceeded.

  1. Organise team members, equipment, paperwork, and general area, prioritising workload at all times to meet customer requirements detailed in the planning spreadsheet.
  2. Communicate messages from the management team positively to the team to promote an inclusive can-do mentality.
  3. Participate actively in mandatory and appropriate developmental leadership and/or skills training courses.
  4. Handle personnel activities related to team members on a daily basis in accordance with company policy and procedure, including attendance (timekeeping including breaks, absence management, holiday, medical appointments etc.), inductions, work groups, and overtime management.
  5. Address personnel issues relating to performance management and team conflicts using 1:1s, workgroups, coaching performance/behaviours, PDR's, and seeking management support when necessary.
  6. Utilise the skills matrix to identify gaps in training and work to complete required SSWs and Tool Box Talks.
  7. Achieve a culture of continuous improvement in conjunction with the Assembly Manager to directly improve department KPIs.
  8. Ensure quality standards are met at all times and work to improve where necessary.
  9. Lead and effectively supervise the team to maintain a high level of housekeeping within the Assembly areas, including undertaking housekeeping checks daily and highlighting any issues accordingly.
  10. Collaborate with the Assembly Management team to actively support and encourage company and departmental initiatives.
  11. Manage day-to-day personnel activities, including performance management and coaching conversations, while remaining open in communication with the Assembly Manager.
  12. Work with the Management team to achieve departmental and company objectives.
  13. Understand business requirements to manage performance.
  14. Demonstrate strong H&S and general housekeeping awareness and knowledge.
  15. Show willingness to undertake relevant leadership training sessions.
  16. Be computer literate and able to use the company system (IFS) or similar MRP systems.

Estimated Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
