We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our team. As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices, payments, and reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Invoice Processing: Process supplier invoices correctly onto the ERP system, ensuring job costing and VAT details are accurate.
  • Approval Management: Manage the approval of invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Supplier Management: Set up new supplier accounts, including liaising with the procurement team to onboard subcontractors.
  • Payment Processing: Run weekly payment runs to pay approved invoices to the correct payment terms.

Requirements

  • Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience working in accounts payable or a purchase ledger role.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Understanding of key accounting concepts, particularly related to accounts payable and general ledger.
  • Software Skills: Familiarity with accounting or ERP systems, such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.
  • VAT Knowledge: Understanding of VAT regulations and how they apply to purchase invoices.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong ability to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy in processing invoices and financial data.
  • Accounting Qualifications: Training towards a recognized accounting qualification, such as AAT, is desirable.
