Ward Manager - CAMHS

Sanctuary Personnel Ltd, a leading recruitment agency with a strong reputation for excellence, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Ward Manager to join their team in a full-time capacity.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the CAMHS ward, ensuring that high standards of patient care are maintained at all times. This will involve managing rotas, coordinating annual leave, and arranging necessary training for nursing staff.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Effective management of ward operations, including resource allocation and staffing levels.
  • Full oversight of nursing staff scheduling, ensuring that rostering standards are upheld and effective.
  • Ensuring clinical supervision, appraisals, and CPD requirements are met for all nursing staff.
  • Identifying and addressing gaps in development, ensuring that any training or performance issues are promptly resolved.
  • Recognising and rewarding nursing staff for positive performance.
  • Acting as a visible role model, mentor, and leader, fostering a culture of learning and development.
  • Implementing and monitoring compliance with relevant policies and statutory requirements.
  • Ensuring the highest standard of patient care, taking appropriate action to maintain quality care at all times.
  • Guaranteeing that all patients have clear, current, and evidence-based care plans that reflect their personalised needs.
  • Establishing clear procedures and processes to ensure the safe and effective operation of the ward.
  • Actively participating in the recruitment and retention of staff for the ward and hospital.
  • Ensuring accurate and prompt communication of patient-related information.
  • Ensuring comprehensive management of patients' physical healthcare needs, alongside their mental health and psychological care.
  • Promoting and upholding diversity and equality requirements within the ward.
  • Conducting thorough and timely clinical and HR investigations.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislative frameworks, such as the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act.
  • Managing Medicines Management within the clinical area/ward.
  • Deputising for the Director of Clinical Services as needed.
