Job Title: Lead Structural Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to lead the delivery of high-level structural input to major projects in the water sector. As a key member of our senior team, you will develop and guide the development of junior engineers, driving the growth of structural knowledge and capabilities.

This permanent full-time position is based in Manchester, offering flexible working arrangements to suit your needs. Previous experience in leading structural design within the water or energy sector is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute the structural design of concrete, steel, and masonry structures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Conduct detailed structural inspections and prepare comprehensive reports outlining necessary maintenance and modifications to meet client and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize expertise in the Water or Energy sectors to deliver sector-specific solutions, enhancing project outcomes and client satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate expertise in structural design while possessing a sound understanding of civil and geotechnical engineering, with working awareness of mechanical and electrical engineering to facilitate cross-disciplinary collaboration.
  • Leverage advanced structural engineering software such as Staad.PRO, Robot Structures, or similar FEM analysis tools, maintaining proficiency in 3D design environments.
  • Maintain consistent communication with the delivery team, ensuring project milestones are met.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the water or energy sector.
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in mechanical and electrical engineering (water/energy).
  • Proficient in coaching junior engineers, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
