Job Title: Infrastructure Section Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Section Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for setting out, engineering control, and quality assurance, as well as coordinating and mentoring the site engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Site Agent in planning and coordinating the project and resources.
  • Coordinate subcontractors to ensure they achieve programme outputs.
  • Write, review, and implement Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Write, review, and implement Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Ensure works are carried out as per ITPs, including correct engineering checks, hold points, inspections, and tests.
  • Manage the site engineering team, delegate tasks, train, and mentor junior engineers, and lead by example.
  • Ensure works are in accordance with the Specification Highways Works (SHW), Project Works Information, and drawings.
  • Ensure accurate and timely records are kept, including site diaries, quality assurance documentation (QA), photos, as-built surveys, red-line drawings, and test results.
  • Constant communication and liaison with the commercial team, providing detailed information to allow for accurate financial reporting, including compensation events (CE) and early warnings (EWs).
  • Manage the snagging system, recording and clearing all snags, and notifying the commercial team and subcontractors.
  • Control and minimize waste on site.
  • Read and interpret data and drawings.
  • Relevant Civil Engineering experience (Highways, Rail, Water, or Aviation).
  • Flexible attitude to work.

Technical/Professional Qualifications Required:

  1. NVQ Level 3 or higher.
  2. SMSTS.
  3. Relevant CSCS card.
  4. Office 365 expertise/CAD.
