Job Title: Claims Examiner

We are seeking an experienced Claims Examiner to join our team at Legal & General Group. As a Claims Examiner, you will be responsible for assessing and processing claims in a fair and timely manner, ensuring that our customers receive the benefits they are entitled to.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Claims Assessment: Gather and review evidence to assess the validity of claims, making decisions based on logical reasoning and company policies.
  • Claims Processing: Manage claims from start to finish, adhering to service standards and processes to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Appeals and Complaints: Identify and resolve appeals and complaints in a timely and professional manner, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Training and Development: Provide support and guidance to colleagues to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Contested Claims: Manage claims that are contested or sensitive in nature, liaising with managers and other stakeholders to ensure effective resolution.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Previous experience in claims handling, preferably in the insurance industry.
  • Knowledge: Good understanding of medical terminology, underwriting, and financial calculations.
  • Skills: Ability to handle difficult calls, communicate effectively with customers and colleagues, and work in a fast-paced environment.
