Team Leader

As a Team Leader at KION Group, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient day-to-day running of the engineering team within a designated area. Your primary goal will be to facilitate a high-quality customer experience within this area.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the engineering team in achieving excellent customer satisfaction
- Manage and motivate the team to ensure efficient operations
- Maintain and repair equipment within a reduced truck parc
- Ensure effective management of patched engineer's workloads in collaboration with their service controller
- Manage WIP, job and service completion to promise, and document completion
- Lead P0/P6 Near Miss and Job Safety Observation Indicator reporting and/or investigation
- Conduct P1/P2 Customer Accident Inspections/Investigations and provide associated reports
- Investigate P3 Engineer accidents, apply corrective action, and reduce accidents
- Ensure SHEQ Compliance, safety audits, site risk assessments, and associated training
- Manage engineer performance and ensure the OCTR cycle is enabled for all colleagues
- Conduct investigations competently in line with agreed Company Standards
- Provide first-level technical escalation and on-site assistance
- Recruit engineers to fulfill budgeted headcount and manage their onboarding
- Engage, retain, coach, and develop engineers, including training needs identification
- Manage engineering coverage, absence management, and authorisation of holidays and training
- Communicate business objectives and performance against goals and targets in team meetings
- Demonstrate effective communication and management skills to deliver excellent customer service
- Excellent people management skills, with the ability to work in a team and promote quality customer service
- Able to prioritise multiple issues on a day-by-day basis to ensure customer satisfaction
- Confident in interacting with customers and having challenging conversations
- Comfortable in customer-facing situations
- Good levels of numeracy and literacy
- Energetic, motivated, and proactive team player
- Qualified maintenance engineer (NVQ level 3/equivalent) in a relevant discipline or industry experience
- Industry know-how
- Competent to support and train engineers on relevant IT systems with first-level support
- Conflict management
- Qualified to conduct Thorough Examination
