About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Sustainability Manager to join our team in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior level environmental professional to support our Environmental Management and Assessment Team in delivering high-quality environmental services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert environmental advice and support to clients, project managers, and colleagues to ensure projects meet environmental regulations and standards.
  • Work closely with technical specialists, design teams, and clients to promote sustainable design and environmental enhancement across various sectors, including rail, highways, energy, and commercial/residential projects.
  • Manage environmental inputs into projects, including EIA screening requests, scoping reports, environmental constraints studies, environmental management plans, and Environmental Statements.
  • Lead project delivery, overseeing performance on technical, quality, commercial, and health and safety aspects.
  • BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH CLIENTS AND IDENTIFY OPPORTUNITIES TO PROVIDE SUPPORT IN AREAS SUCH AS RESOURCING, PROGRAMMING, STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT, AND PROJECT DELIVERY.
  • Contribute to business development activities, including preparing proposals, participating in strategic bid preparation, and engaging in business opportunities.
Requirements
  • A relevant environmental degree-level qualification, preferably in EIA or a related field.
  • Chartered Environmental Status and Full membership of IEMA, or equivalent qualifications with a relevant professional body.
  • Strong experience in EIA and EIA processes, working with minimal supervision in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Solid knowledge and experience of relevant environmental and planning legislation.
  • Demonstrable post-qualified experience of coordinating environmental assessments on diverse projects.
  • Familiarity with project management activities, including commercial and risk aspects, forecasting, and quality assurance.
  • Experience in work-winning and bid preparation activities.
  • Ability to liaise with cross-discipline teams, clients, and external bodies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing with attention to detail.
