About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Reliability and Test Methodology Engineer to join our team at Quintessential Design Services Limited. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing reliability and test methodologies for our automotive electrification projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop component-specific design verification and validation test methods for new electrified propulsion systems.
  • Enhance our test plans to create efficient tests tailored to specific mechanisms of failure for new cutting-edge automotive technology.
  • Participate in product design processes to understand product features, functions, and lifecycle events to plan for reliability assessment.
  • Perform lifecycle assessment and provide recommendations to the design team to achieve lifecycle targets.
  • Develop standard methods, trainings, and methodologies and ensure implementation within the organization for competence development.
  • Share lessons learned and develop best practice guidelines.
  • Collaborate with a broad range of specialists and projects to put complex ideas across to senior engineers.
Requirements
  • Degree or similar qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering or a related subject.
  • Strong background in product development and experience in component/system design and verification/validation.
  • Understanding of quality tools and in particular Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) and Design for Reliability (DfR) methods and principles.
  • Familiarity with and experience in failure mode analysis with ability to problem solve and effectively communicate findings at different business levels.
  • Knowledge of reliability engineering and statistical analysis.
  • Working knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with the design, operation, and environment of Automotive Electrification.
  • Design for Reliability (DfR) techniques.
  • DFMEA, DRBFM, Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Able to communicate effectively, work flexibly in a multi-disciplinary team, and on own initiative.
  • Experience of working in AGILE.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Product development experience in Transmission & Driveline (eMachines), Thermal Systems (Cooling, Lubrication), Power Electronics (Inverter), or Mechanical (Castings or Frames).
