Job Summary

Circle Health Group is seeking an experienced Theatre Practitioner to lead our Ophthalmic, ENT, and Maxillofacial specialty. This is a substantive post for a skilled practitioner to run the department and provide high-quality care to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver safe and quality care to patients during their perioperative phase of care.
  • Support and assist in the management and organization of care provision within the Operating Department.
  • Lead and manage a team, coordinating staff training needs and resource requirements within a peri-operative function or surgical specialty.
  • Assist in the delivery of patient care, contributing to quality improvement, and developing and enhancing the skills and knowledge of others and self.
  • Apply and promote best evidence-based practice within own scope of practice, applying legislation, policies, and procedures correctly.
  • Maintain knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act, ensuring appropriate measures are taken in respect of Health and Safety for patients, relatives, visitors, hospital staff, and contractors.
  • Achieve agreed objectives and demonstrate CHG behaviors at all times.
  • Assemble, check, and prepare the appropriate surgical equipment, instruments, and consumables for a wide range of operative procedures.
Requirements
  • Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration.
  • Minimum 3-year experience in coordination, ordering, first assistant, mentor, overview of leading other.
  • First surgical assistant certificate.
  • Additional skills in recovery and anaesthetics.
  • ILS.
  • Mentorship qualification.
  • Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
  • Proficient in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.
  • Experience of customer care, including interacting with customers in challenging situations.
