Job Description

Medical Device Decontamination Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Medical Device Decontamination Technician at Ashtead Hospital, part of the Ramsay Health Care Group. As a Medical Device Decontamination Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care by participating in the decontamination cycle of re-usable medical devices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake decontamination duties and assist in providing a specialized decontamination service contributing to the clinical care of patients.
  • Carry out the receipt, disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, packing, and sterilization of reusable medical devices, recording all tasks in the relevant database.
  • Work in accordance with the Department's Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Management Systems.
  • Provide supervision to Apprentice/Trainee Decontamination Technicians within the team.
  • Plan your own workload with limited supervision.
  • Co-ordinate the activity of a shift as required in the absence of the Decontamination Technician Supervisor.
