Financial Controller

Resourcery Group is partnering with a renowned Liverpool business to find a skilled Financial Controller. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, this senior role will lead the Finance Operations and Management Accounting teams, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and providing strategic financial guidance to management.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Group Finance Director and senior stakeholders to drive business performance. With a global presence and a proud history, our award-winning client is a market leader in their field and has undergone significant growth in recent times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain financial accounting systems to ensure accurate and reliable financial reporting.
  • Manage and oversee the cash, billing, accounts payable, and credit control functions in the UK and overseas.
  • Own the management and financial reporting processes, maintaining accuracy and transparency in all account balances.
  • Effectively manage and lead the team.
  • Provide insight and analysis into key aspects of performance, highlighting issues and driving improved behaviors.
  • Manage cash flow on a daily basis.
  • Own the forecasts and 3-year plans for P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
  • Own the treasury function, consisting of numerous bank accounts for both office and client monies.
  • Lead the central budget process, including salary reviews and bonus setting.
  • Provide financial analysis and insight to support strategic decision-making and business planning.

Key Requirements:

  • Extensive team management experience.
  • Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or ACCA is highly preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a senior finance role, preferably as a Financial Controller or similar position.
  • Proven expertise in financial management, accounting principles, and financial reporting standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide strategic financial guidance.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities to effectively manage a finance team.

Day-to-Day:

  • Review and analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team to ensure professional growth and development.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices.
