We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our dynamic team on our acute admission wards.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients with mental health needs, working closely with the multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care: Work autonomously to deliver physical, psychological, social, recreational, and spiritual care, using therapeutic engagement and activities to promote recovery and address any arising issues.
  • Ensure basic needs are met: Oversee activities for nutrition, hydration, hygiene, comfort, emotional, and social support, ensuring patients' physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Coordinate patient-centered care: Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive care plans, ensuring that patients receive coordinated and person-centered care.
  • Communicate effectively: Provide clear information about care to patients and families, ensuring that they are involved in decision-making and supported throughout their care journey.
  • Teamwork and collaboration: Work positively with the multi-disciplinary team and partner organizations to ensure seamless care delivery and effective communication.
  • Medication management: Administer medication, monitor side effects, and ensure patient compliance, adhering to trust policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe environment: Ensure safe medication storage, sharps disposal, and clinical equipment use, reporting incidents as per trust policy.
  • Care plan development and monitoring: Collect data, track patient progress, discuss findings, and generate reports, developing and executing care plans under Registered Nurse supervision.
  • Lead junior staff: Guide junior staff in providing hands-on care, including patient engagement, patient respect and dignity, care plan creation, and promoting healthy lifestyles.
  • Facilitate admissions and discharges: Ensure patient and service needs are met, including required documentation, ensuring smooth transitions and effective discharge planning.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Mental Health Nurse who is passionate about delivering high-quality care to patients with mental health needs.

You will have a strong background in mental health nursing, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

You will be a registered mental health nurse with a passion for mental health care, possessing excellent clinical skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
