Senior Data Architect

Abacus Professional Recruitment Ltd is delighted to be working with a large global bank who currently require a Senior Data Architect to come on board and take charge of their Data architecture going forward.

The ideal candidate will be a good collaborator and able to communicate highly complex technical information well. This is an opportunity to join a team and make the work bespoke and put your own stamp on it, with differing levels of maturity currently existing. Your influence will stretch across their Belfast, Denmark and India.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement data architectures in big data, analytics and data engineering platforms within a large organisation
  • Stay up-to-date with current and evolving IT technologies, architectures and delivery models
  • Understand the current and evolving data landscape and its impact on the organisation
  • Communicate complex technical information effectively to a diverse range of stakeholders, including those without a technical background
  • Develop effective data models for reporting and data warehousing purposes with data warehousing design/development
  • Experience of Agile and scrum methodologies and advanced ETL tool or solution development
Desirable Skills:
  • Knowledge of data processing frameworks such as Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis or Spark
  • Knowledge of scheduling tools such as Airflow, Oozie etc.
  • 1+ years' experience with Hadoop and 1+ years' experience with Python
  • Using APIs to consume data and experience of People Management including performance management, mentoring and coaching
  • Retail Banking or Financial Services experience and experience of working within a Centre of Excellence model
