About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Head of Faculty - Life Skills. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage a team of professionals in delivering high-quality education and support to our students.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our Life Skills curriculum, ensuring that it is relevant, engaging, and meets the needs of our students. They will also be responsible for monitoring and supporting pupil progress, working closely with the Academic Intervention Co-ordinators to ensure that all students receive the support they need to succeed.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education, with experience of working in a special school setting. They will be a reflective practitioner, committed to ongoing professional development and dedicated to improving teaching and learning practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of the Life Skills curriculum
  • Monitor and support pupil progress, working closely with the Academic Intervention Co-ordinators
  • Be accountable for securing healthy schools' status annually
  • Deliver weekly assemblies and student council meetings
  • Work alongside the intervention coordinator to ensure appropriate interventions are offered for all students
Requirements
  • Relevant honours degree and QTS
  • Knowledge of recent developments in learning and teaching
  • A reflective practitioner with a commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Previous experience of working in an SEN environment (highly desirable)
