About the Role:

Citizens Advice Merton and Lambeth is seeking an experienced Energy Adviser to join our team. As an Energy Adviser, you will provide high-quality energy information and advice to clients, helping them to maximise their income, reduce energy debt, and improve their overall energy efficiency.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive energy advice to clients via face-to-face and telephone appointments.
  • Ensure income maximisation for clients through the take-up of appropriate welfare benefits.
  • Provide education around energy-saving techniques and support with energy debt issues, including billing, grants, and payment plans.
  • Work closely with colleagues and the wider charity team to ensure clients receive holistic advice and support.
  • Contribute to ongoing training and development, staying up-to-date with recent legislation, case law, and policy changes.

Requirements:

  • Generalist Adviser certificate (Citizens Advice or equivalent).
  • Complete NEA Energy Awareness (Level 3) or relevant energy training.
  • Experience of using client management databases and strong IT skills.
  • Fantastic communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Understanding of and commitment to the aims, principles, and values of Citizens Advice.
