We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Orthodontics to join our team at NHS Fife. As a Consultant in Orthodontics, you will be responsible for providing complex and multidisciplinary orthodontic treatment and orthognathic care to patients in Fife.
About the RoleThe post holder will work closely with two Consultants, Specialty trainees, DCTs, and an excellent support team to provide high-quality patient care. You will be responsible for managing a wide range of malocclusions, with an increasing bias towards those requiring multidisciplinary care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing complex and multidisciplinary orthodontic treatment and orthognathic care to patients in Fife
- Working closely with Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery colleagues to provide joint orthognathic clinics
- Participating in the teaching and training of Specialty Registrars
- Managing patients with hypodontia who require multidisciplinary treatment with paediatric dental and restorative colleagues
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Full registration with the United Kingdom General Dental Council
- Be on the GDC Specialist List for Orthodontics
- Hold the ISFE in orthodontics or be within 6 months of completing training at the date of interview
