Job Description

The Pastoral Care Specialist will provide spiritual care and support to prisoners and staff within a secure environment. This will involve providing guidance, advice, and support to prisoners and staff, as well as developing and delivering faith-based programs, worship services, and study groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide faith-based pastoral care to prisoners and staff, including guidance, advice, and support.
  • Develop and deliver faith-based programs, worship services, and study groups to promote spiritual growth and well-being.
  • Collaborate with other chaplains, managing chaplains, volunteers, and external groups to maintain and provide facilities for worship and prayer.
  • Contribute to the development of local policies, procedures, and practices that promote spiritual care and well-being.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A deep understanding of Roman Catholicism and its practices.
  • Experience working in a prison or secure environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £32,500 - £37,500 per annum, depending on experience. In addition, you will receive a range of benefits, including annual leave, pension scheme, and access to training and development opportunities.
