Job Summary:

The Domestic Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital. This is a full-time position, working 0.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a salary of £ per hour, plus Serco benefits.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide a high-quality domestic cleaning service to patients and staff, adhering to Service Level Specifications and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Clean floors, work surfaces, furnishings, and equipment to a hygienic standard, following work schedules and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Empty, dispose of, and replace clinical and domestic waste, ensuring correct disposal.
  • Maintain equipment and materials in a hygienic and safe condition, reporting any issues to the Team Leader.
  • Ensure high personal hygiene and infection control standards are maintained.
  • Work in line with Health and Safety, Quality, and Serco and Trust policies and procedures.
  • Participate as a full member of the team, supporting and training other staff, participating in team meetings, and working flexibly as required.

Requirements:

  • General cleaning experience, operating machinery, and lifting water-filled buckets.
  • Basic skills training, including accreditation by the British Institute of Cleaning Science.
  • Full knowledge of Serco and Trust working practices and procedures, and Health and Safety requirements.
  • Good communication and customer care skills, with the ability to communicate with colleagues, supervisors, Trust staff, and patients.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
