Job Overview
Fylde Coast Medical Services / PDS Medical seeks a skilled Echocardiographer to join their team in Leicestershire. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing and reporting adult echocardiograms to British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) standards.
Salary Information
The successful candidate can expect a competitive hourly rate of £23.01, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and report adult transthoracic echocardiograms to BSE standards
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current developments and advances in echocardiography and cardiology
- Patient confidentiality must be maintained at all times
- Active participation in multidisciplinary team meetings, providing specialist knowledge to other physiologists and medical staff
- Evaluate and assess new equipment prior to purchase, in collaboration with the Echo lead
- Awareness and compliance with health and safety protocols, as set out by the organization
- Travel to remote clinical locations may be required; a full UK driving license is preferable, with access to your own vehicle
- Support the Department Manager and Echocardiography lead to ensure delivery of a high-quality and efficient echocardiography service
Required Skills and Qualifications
- BSE/EACVI TTE Adult Accredited
- Experience in a community-based echocardiography service
- Ability to obtain all cardiac ultrasound views, as described in the BSE minimum dataset, on both technically easy and challenging patients
- Computer literacy and understanding of the application of IT to clinical investigations
- Demonstrated flexibility in work duties
- BSc in Healthcare Science/Cardiac Physiology or BTEC HNC or equivalent
