Electrical Maintenance Specialist

At Calor Gas Limited, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our multi-disciplined team. As an Electrical Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for providing efficient site maintenance services, ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency in our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose breakdowns, repair equipment, and implement preventative measures to maintain optimal site performance.
- Perform planned maintenance, inspection, and testing to required standards, ensuring compliance with current legislation and company specifications.
- Keep the Computerised Maintenance Management System (PEMAC) updated, providing accurate and timely information for effective decision-making.
- Install new electrical equipment in compliance with current legislation and company specifications, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
- Create and review electrical work instructions, risk assessments, and technical drawings, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Carry out plant and equipment modifications within company specifications, maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
- Report hazards and equipment defects promptly, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing downtime.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner, maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Skills, Experience & Knowledge:
- Experience in production maintenance environments, preferably on hazardous area / COMAH sites, with a strong understanding of electrical systems and equipment.
- COMPEX qualification (or willingness to work towards), demonstrating expertise in electrical maintenance and repair.
- Applicable and demonstrable apprenticeship qualification, showcasing a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles.
- IOSH or other H&S qualification (or willingness to work towards), ensuring a strong commitment to health and safety.
- City & Guilds Electrical Qualification, demonstrating a high level of technical expertise in electrical systems and equipment.
- IEE regulations 17th/18th edition, ensuring compliance with current legislation and industry standards.
- Ability to read technical drawings, with a strong understanding of electrical schematics and diagrams.
- Detailed understanding of current electrical legislation/electricity at work regulations, ensuring compliance and adherence to industry standards.
- Basic mechanical knowledge (advantageous), with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Knowledge of PLC systems (advantageous), with a strong understanding of programmable logic controllers and their applications.
