At Calor Gas Limited, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our multi-disciplined team. As an Electrical Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for providing efficient site maintenance services, ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency in our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose breakdowns, repair equipment, and implement preventative measures to maintain optimal site performance.
  • Perform planned maintenance, inspection, and testing to required standards, ensuring compliance with current legislation and company specifications.
  • Keep the Computerised Maintenance Management System (PEMAC) updated, providing accurate and timely information for effective decision-making.
  • Install new electrical equipment in compliance with current legislation and company specifications, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Create and review electrical work instructions, risk assessments, and technical drawings, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  • Carry out plant and equipment modifications within company specifications, maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
  • Report hazards and equipment defects promptly, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing downtime.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner, maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Skills, Experience & Knowledge:

  • Experience in production maintenance environments, preferably on hazardous area / COMAH sites, with a strong understanding of electrical systems and equipment.
  • COMPEX qualification (or willingness to work towards), demonstrating expertise in electrical maintenance and repair.
  • Applicable and demonstrable apprenticeship qualification, showcasing a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles.
  • IOSH or other H&S qualification (or willingness to work towards), ensuring a strong commitment to health and safety.
  • City & Guilds Electrical Qualification, demonstrating a high level of technical expertise in electrical systems and equipment.
  • IEE regulations 17th/18th edition, ensuring compliance with current legislation and industry standards.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, with a strong understanding of electrical schematics and diagrams.
  • Detailed understanding of current electrical legislation/electricity at work regulations, ensuring compliance and adherence to industry standards.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge (advantageous), with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Knowledge of PLC systems (advantageous), with a strong understanding of programmable logic controllers and their applications.
